Legacy Giving
One of the most meaningful ways to impact the LGBTQ community and everyone living with HIV is through a legacy gift as part of your estate plans with Lambda Legal.
When you name Lambda Legal as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement account(s) or life insurance policy, you can make a transformational investment in our work without gifting assets during your lifetime.

Ways to Give
To make a bequest to Lambda Legal, please include the following language in your will or trust:
“I hereby give and bequeath [cash amount OR percentage amount] to Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund Inc., New York, New York, for its general purposes.”
To ensure that your wishes are followed as you intend, we suggest you also include Lambda Legal’s full name, address, and tax ID in your will or trust.

When you name Lambda Legal as a beneficiary of qualified retirement plans—such as a 401(k), 403(b), IRA, or pension fund—our organization will receive the full value of your gift tax-free.
When you set up a charitable gift annuity through Lambda Legal, you can create a partially tax-free source of retirement income. Contact us below to find out more.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows people age 70½ and older to donate up to $111,000 tax-free from their IRA directly to Lambda Legal. For those 73 and older, a QCD can also help satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) while also reducing your taxable income.
In order to set up a QCD, your IRA custodian may need Lambda Legal’s full legal name, mailing address, and tax identification number:
